Fast forward to being a member of Louisiana Hall of Fame inductee
Deacon John's Band, which led to Olivia singing background for the "Lost
Soul Queen" Betty Harris at The 2005 Ponderosa Stomp.
Olivia was a regular featured singer in the late, great Eddie Bo's band. In fact she re-opened New Orleans famous Mid-City Lanes Rock'n'Bowl with Eddie Bo in 2005, not long after Katrina. And as a member of the Mother-in-Law Lounge All Star Band she helped to celebrate the late Ernie and Antoinette K-Doe's memory during the final night of Ernie K-Doe's Mother-in Law Lounge in 2010.
Olivia Greene is a band leader herself also, with some of New Orleans' finest jazz musicians in her revolving ensemble. Her innovative group satisfies music lovers with traditional jazz, swing, country, blues, gospel and ageless New Orleans classics.
Olivia has performed with her band at popular New Orleans clubs including Snug Harbor and Sweet Lorraine's, and at legendary venues like the original Donna's and The Carousel Lounge. She enjoys working as a studio session vocalist too, in nearly every genre - from rock to experimental.
In her spare time Olivia volunteers as a show host with a regular
Wednesday morning traditional jazz show on WWOZ radio, heard around
the world via electronic media streams. She's
hosted The New Orleans Music Show, contemporary jazz, blues, & early
R&B.
