Olivia Greene began singing in the church, and she still does. Gospel
is an ongoing passion.
Being a member of Louisiana Hall of Fame inductee Deacon John's Jump
Blues Band, Deacon John and The Ivories Band, and singing background
for the "Lost Soul Queen" Betty Harris led to Olivia becoming a
featured singer in the late, great Eddie Bo's band.
Post-Katrina, Olivia became a band leader herself, including some of
New Orleans' finest musicians in her ensemble. Her innovative group
satisfies listeners with traditional jazz, classy Great American
Songbook tunes and timeless New Orleans favorites.
The Olivia Greene Combo has performed at posh jazz venues including
Snug Harbor and Sweet Lorraine's, at legendary clubs like Donna's and
Buffa's, and at elegant New Orleans landmarks such as The Columns and
Hotel Monteleone.
They also enjoy playing at private parties.
Touring occasionally, Olivia calls New Orleans home.
